Tuesdaynight live!!

Johan and i headed out Tuesdaynight for some calling and we had decided a stand were i shot a Redfox last Friday night as i saw another one that night. When we left the car we walked just 40 yards down the fields when i saw a black figure in the snow 70 yards off the path we walked. I was carrying my Wingmaster and Johan his CZ .22 Hornet so he looked through his scope and i was confirmed a Redfox sleeping after dinner.Johan said he could take it if it got up so i threw away two or three mouse squeeks with my lips and the Redfox sat up looking our way, -Take him now, i said to Johan and a light bang was heard across the fields and the Red dropped back into sleep....eternal this time......We did some calling at this spot also but no connection so i figure this was the one i saw the other night when i was in that area.

Thanks!!

First calling stand 2010

I´ve been experimenting with sounds and different calls to get a great bird-distress sound for Reds, i took my seasons first calling stand on the night Friday to Saturday as the weather finnaly got a bit warmer and had been seeing alot of foxtrax in the snow at this location.

Headed out just before midnight and got set up, as i started to call i saw a fox coming out of some brush 500 yards away and he sat for a while listening then he layed down and just wouldnt budge. I kept an eye on him through my scope as i continued to call for another 15 min.

All of a sudden i got to think something was wrong and i turned my head around and 150 yards out the other way a fox came jumping in through the snow and i didnt get him to stop jumping until he was 20 yds away and i got the shot he dropped in his tracks but the fox out on 500 yards sneeked down in a ditch and left the way he got in.....

I was using my bitereed call i bought from Steve (SDHowler).....Awesome!!

Got another buddy to take along...

This is Foppa a English Springer that i got to borrow for hunting from his owners in the future, yesterday he was with me out for the first time and we were supposed to train commands only but when he got this Hare up in the field i couldn´t resist trying my new shotgun. Foppa is not trained for hunts as he´s a couple of years and only been a family dog until yesterday but i hoping to get him to know some simple tasks to perform in the field. The next thing we are going to train is basic marking of downed birds and from there to retrive the same, this rabbit i hope will only introduce him to small game and then when/if the interest shows to sustain we will have some great hunts in front of us.

New birdgun..

I finally found a used Wingmaster for sale and this one was in great condition, a little beaten on the outside but the inside and moving parts were hardly worn at all.

Remington .870 Wingmaster 12 gauge with a straight bore barrel, i took the first game with it last night (pics will be added).
