Roebuck over 130,5 points!!! Fredrik Lenneskog personal record!!!!

Last season was amazing in many ways, me and my daughter got this throphy buck on game cam already in august. He was like a ghost throughout September and October, but then one afternoon (early November) we sat at a food plot and a whole bunch of deer showed up including this brute.

We got the drop on him at under 20 yds and whao what a rack he presented, i dont post pic of my kids on the web nowadays but i can asure you that the smile on her face with the buck at here feet beats everything so far!!! (you´re just have to stick with a pic of me and Mr Buck)

Trailcam pictures!!

Ok i thought my next post would be much less interesting then this, the fact that i´ve been cutting down on hunting is mostly because of the kids need their time with me. So therefore i choose my hunting trips more carefully now, and after a winter of just about no hunting at all i caught this gana on the trailcam out in my huntingarea.
This will defenetly boost the stand this season, my hopes in soon posing THE picture here and by that i mean that pic with me and my first Hog :)

..outdoor afternoon..

Two weeks back me and my daughter spent an entire afternoon in the outdoors, we did a 2,3 kilometer hike up on a hill on our hunting grounds. It´s a blast taking the kids outdoors to really know the nature firsthand......

Me my friend Mats and his wife spent the evening at his pond, we had a great time and even though the Mallards didnt fly like we planned we managed to bag six of them. Nice weather and company made this evening fun and one to remember, i for the first time nailed a comeback call on Mallard and got one bird to break away and come back into the heat just in range for my buddys shotgun......really fun!!

Waterfowling in Norrby again...

Once again i´ve attended a duckhunt at my friends duckpond over in Norrhyttan, we had app. 200 birds flying in and we took 25 out of that. Mostly Mallard hens but also a few Teal hens were this nights catch, the further into the season we comes the more Waterfowl will gather around this area as lakes and creeks up north freezes and the migration south begins..

Fallowdeer

Two weeks ago i headed down south to friend of mine to hunt Fallowdeer, we had a great time seeing alot of game animals and i managed to put the drop on a young buck and a young fox. We had good weather and every mornings sunrise looked like the lowest of the pictures (taken from my stand).

August and the new season starts!!!

August is for many people the slow end of the summer, boring for some but for us that enjoy hunting this month means something special. On the night of the 1st me and Johan headed out to hunt Badger with his Plotthound and on one dirtroad we saw this fox (lowest pic) strutting around in search of something to have for dinner. I called it in and Johan got the drop on him 10 yards out, it was a young male so we figure this site will be a good place to call adult fox later on this winter.

On Sunday the same week a friend of mine invited me to go Dove hunting with him and his Lab, we somewhat of a slow start but ended up shooting 30 Wood Pigeons (middle pic) it was a great day but the rain put a stop on the hunt at noon.

I´ve also managed to drop a Redfox on a Roebuck stand i took on the morning of the 16:th also a youngster wich a called in and shot at 70 yards, im still out for a special Buck i´ve seen and if i get the drop on him pictures will be added......

Thanks!!!

Springtime = Beaverhunting

I got a call from a friend a week ago about some beavers ruining his dam surrounding his duckpond, he wanted some help shooting them so me and a friend headed over there this weekend. My buddy shot a big female on Friday and got the drop on this last years cub, just over 20lb it´s the smallest beaver i´ve ever laid my crosshair over. The skin is at the taxidermist now and it´ll keep my but warm on next winters calling stands for Redfox.

Thanks!!!

The patience personified!!!

Hunting isn´t always walking hand in hand with family life, with a wife and two kids time just doesnt come falling in on your head. So i like to thank my beloved wife for putting up with me and my addiction of calling Redfox in the middle of the night many times in mid weeks when we are going to work early. It takes a ton of patience to cope with the fact that hunting is such a big part of my life, many times i don´t even reflect over that when i pack down the gear a sunday or saturday morning (or both) before sunrise and not showing up again until late afternoon how much needed one are
at home especially at the weekends!!!
Thank you Mrs.Lenneskog for your angel like patience!!!!

Ooooooooooops!!

Im first off very sorry for the poor updating through this Winter, it´s all my own fault as i havent had the time out as much so there hasnt been anything really to write about..

This week though me and my buddy Johan have been calling for fox really serious but our shooting have been awful, without revealing any distances :D i can tell everyone that we together burned 5 foxes for this season.... The misses have been good in that way that no fox got hurt more then a little ringing ears..... so after yesterday night we decided that we wont call a single fox before we´ve been to the range for test firing the rigs.

I´ll throw in a pic on a very successful morning in this years January at a friends Duckpond this young female showed up after some 25 minutes of calling and i actually went through 4 different sounds before the old Cronk Killer Call put the drop on her....
Thanks for putting up with waiting for posts!!!!!

Pretty fun morning!!!

This morning me and two friends of min hit the fields for some birdhunting, we had put up "deeks" for crow, goose and pigeons at our stand. The goose numbers were low we had a flyby of maybe 30 total and we managed to drop nine of them, four Rock pigeons and two Jackdaws fell to the ground also before we called it a day......

Really keen to try Pigeons and Jackdaw tomorrow afternoon, they seem to fly better after lunch.

Sometimes you´re better off dead!!

Shot this poor little fellow this morning outside the stables, he was scouting for mouse in the field there but had a hard time focus on the hunt. I tried to call im in for a shotgun range but i had to go in and pick up my .222, got him in a good position and let away a Sierra Blitz King and he DRT......

He was barly able to open his eyes due to swelling from infection in his face, terrible decease Mange i make sure to always try and put these individuals to sleep as they truly are better off dead.

New toy!!

A surplus army Mauser i got from a good friend of mine, he was to send it for destruction as he had no time to finish this project. It´s CG M/96 in 6,5x55 with a army (cg63) Matchgrade barrel put on, the stock needs a new front end and alot of sanding as it´s raw from the miller, then some minor jobs on scope mounts and trigger settings that im tendning to let a gunsmith to help me with. Will probably not be finished until earliest next season, but it´ll sure be fun to see it emerge.....
Thaks!!!
