Antler call coming up!!

Got hold of this shedantler from a bull Moose, i traded it for a call made i wood with a friend.
I hope to make real nice calls out of the spikes on the antler there is five as you see so i hope that i´ll have as much success with this as my Roedeer antler call:

This project will start later on this summer when i get to my summerhouse for vacation, with me in the picture i also have the skins of my first "call in" Redfox from late February and the monster Beaver i shot in April this year wich i have prepared myself so now i know how to save me some money on taxidermist costs.

They are close now!

This picture was taken by a friends brother when they were out looking for Wolves outside the village Edsbyn in Sweden a village with big Wolf problems. It has actually gone so far that the people in the outskirts dont spend time in the outdoors anymore, and hunters have lost there dogs and game.
He sent me this picture yesterday and he told me that this lone wolf were walking side by side with a Bear that ran off the second he saw the car, the Wolf stayed for a closer look and gave the guys a chance to catch him on picture.
Later the same day the brothers were up on a hillside howling and they got answer from the pack that lives in the area and got them into what they think was app. 200 meters, a pretty magic moment i was told.
The Swedish Wolf is on the endangered list an the numbers of Wolves are barley 150 after the last cubs been born, soon enough as the numbers reach above 200 the goverment has said that controlled hunts will be discussed.
It would be awsome to go up there and try some calling just for photo, i hope it becomes reality it would certainly be a thrill.

Thanks Jens and Joacim Törnberg for the great photo!!!

There will probably be very calm on hunting pics over the summer, im only going for some Crows at my summerhouse on my summer vacation i June-July.
There will be some call making during the summer too when im not fishing Pike and Trout, i´ll be making five calls out of a Moose antler i got hold of from my friend who invited me to this last hunt for "Roe". Pics on progress will be posted during.......

Got the beaver trophy mounted.

I mounted the teeth only of the beaver beacuse the skull had cracked into shreds, i even had to glue one tooth (the long on the right) as it also cracked on the bullet impact.
I did it a kind "hog like" mount but it turned out nice i think.

Daughters first day in the forest.

On sunday it was time to take out my family for a day in the woods, it was my 5 1/2 month daughters first time and she got so many impressions that she fell asleep after two hours in the backpack.
The dog though desperatly tried to find some Foxes to drive but there was nothing moving daytime so we had a calm day. Off for my first spring hunt on Roedeer this weekend i cant wait, im spending one night at friends house and were off to hunt one evening and one morning.

I´m also gonna show him my Custom calls for fox and if there is time we´ll try them to see if we get any contact, too bad the season for Fox is over but you can allways look.
